Our activity offerings here at The Lakes by yoo are aimed to get you out and about exploring and experiencing

the natural beauty that surrounds us. Choose from the following range of activities to suit most ages and families.

The activities are also available for adult only groups.

Bushcraft

2 hours

£195 (up to 6 people)

£25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 3+

This lovely activity based in the woods can be adapted to suit all ages and covers everything from den building tracking, whittling, compass usage, fire starting and of course the

toasting of marshmallows at the end.

Where to meet:

Meadow woods – meet at the trampoline, proceed past the tennis courts shown on the Estate map.

What to wear:

Summer – please wear long sleeves and trousers/leggings and sturdy footwear. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Winter – please wear long sleeves and trousers/leggings and layers to include a waterproof. Sturdy footwear or wellies. Gloves if it is cold.

Archery

2 hours

£195 (up to 6 people)

£25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 3+

Suitable from ages 3+ this is a lovely family activity that is suited to both beginners and intermediate users. Our instructors make this a fun activity with plenty of challenges.

Session instructor: Chris Fox from Black Cat archery or Steph and Dan from Xperience Archery

Where to meet:

Meadow – meet at the trampoline, continue past the tennis courts shown on the estate map. Park at the tennis courts.

What to wear:

Summer – Sturdy footwear and a sun hat. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Winter –Sturdy footwear and layers to include a waterproof. Gloves if it is cold.

Bring water bottles.

Lake Fishing

2 hours

Bank Fishing £195 (up to 6) *

Boat Fishing £245 (up to 4)

* £25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 5+

This activity is best suited for ages 5+ younger children can also attend and have a go. This activity can take place either Warrens Cross Lake (Pike, Perch or Carp) or Huntsmans Lake (Trout).

We can’t guarantee that you’ll catch any fish but many do and you will certainly have a lovely afternoon out on the lake.

All rods and tackle supplied.

As we only have one boat, two sessions would need to be booked for groups upwards of 4 people.

Where to meet:

The boating pontoon on Huntsmans Lake or by prior arrangement. Park by the back gate (South easterly corner of the estate) and walk up (about 5 mins) or better still cycle straight there.

What to wear:

Summer – Sturdy footwear and a sun hat. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Winter –Sturdy footwear and layers to include a waterproof. Gloves if it is cold.

 

River Fishing

2 hours

River Fishing £195 (up to 6)  £25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 8+

This activity is best suited for ages 8+ younger children can also attend and have a go. This activity takes place on the edge of the estate on the edge of the River Coln. 

We contribute to stocking the river with trout and grayling and whilst we can’t guarantee that you’ll catch any fish you will certainly have a lovely afternoon out on the lake.

All rods and tackle supplied.

Where to meet:

The river is just next to our River Shack location and is tricky to find.  Please follow directions to the Stables (not yet in situ). Proceed to the South Easterly corner of the estate and head right through the back gate down a track.  When you reach the bottom of the track you will see a further gate, continue left here and then park at the next junction. Please minimise the number of vehicles and if possible cycle to this location.

What to wear:

Summer – Sturdy footwear and a sun hat. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Winter – Sturdy footwear and layers to include a waterproof. Gloves if it is cold.

Pond Dipping

2 hours

From £195 (up to 6)

£25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 3+

A lovely fun activity for all ages simply exploring the water life on the Estate. Armed with nets and buckets and observation tanks our knowledgeable instructor runs an inspiring session into Lakes’ insect and water life.

Where to meet:

The Birdhide. Park by the back gate (South easterly corner of the estate) and head over the foot bridge, continue down the path (about 5 mins) or better still cycle straight there. When you reach the bottom of the track you will see a further gate, proceed through and head for the Birdhide (which is a lovely building with wood burner and a kettle with a selection of herbal teas).

What to wear:

Summer – crocs and flip flops are great as you may want to paddle.

Please apply sun cream and insect repellent and wear a sun hat.

Winter – Wellies and layers/ a waterproof. Gloves if it is cold.

Bring water bottles.

 

Raft Building

2 hours

From £195 (up to 8 people)                     

Age 8+

A fun activity for older children and adults. Work together with our instructor to build a raft that you can later enjoy on the water.

Should there be more of you in your group we suggest a double session constructing two rafts and making the building competitive.

Where to meet: The Meadow beach. Please park at the tennis courts.

What to wear:

Tshirt and shorts with bathing costume underneath. Crocs are perfect and a sun hat. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Bring a towel and water bottles

 

Private Buddy

2 hours

From £65 (up to 4 children)

Age 3+

A member of our Kid’s Club team can be available to take the children for a scavenger hunt or to run some craft activities. This isn’t a babysitting service but you might want your children entertained or want to give them an educational experience whilst you enjoy a treatment or dine.   

This is bespoke and we will discuss your children’s likes and dislikes with you to ascertain the appropriate activity. This is a daytime service.

Session leader: Either a female or male member of our team

Where to meet: We can run these sessions at your home or from The Spa.

What to wear:

Summer – Sturdy footwear and a sun hat. Please apply sun cream and insect repellent.

Winter –Sturdy footwear/wellies and layers to include a waterproof. Gloves if it is cold.

Bring water bottles.

 

Horse Riding

45 minutes

£55 pp

Age 6+

We are happy to arrange horse riding on your behalf with a neighbouring stables. The lessons are 45 minutes long but you will need to get there 20 minutes early.

We will need to know the following information before booking:

  • Age, height and weight

  • Previous experience

Session host: Talland Stables

Where to go:

The Talland School of Equitation Dairy Farm,  Ampney Knowle, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 5FD

It's just a short 15/20 minute drive towards Cirencester as per the address above. I advise arriving 15 minutes before your lesson start time.

We can run these sessions at your home or from The Spa.

We will need to know height, weight and ability of each participator

What to wear:

Long close fitting trousers.

 

Clay Pigeon Shooting

2 hours

£250 venue hire +

£35.00 pp (25 clays) or

£50.00 pp (35 clays)

Age 12+

A traditional Cotswold activity perfect for leisure and team building.

Order refreshments from concierge to complete the day.

Where to meet: It’s a little tricky to find but on our Estate map it’s indicated as the Stables. Proceed to the South Easterly corner of the estate and head right through the back gate down a track.  When you reach the bottom of the track you will see a further gate, proceed left here and then park at the next junction. Please minimise the number of vehicles and if possible cycle to this location.

What to wear:

Sturdy footwear or wellies. Weather appropriate clothing. In summer, please apply sun cream and insect repellent and wear a hat. Bring water bottles on hot days.

 

 

Air Rifle Shooting

2 hours

£195.00 pp

£25 additional person up to a maximum of 12

Age 4+

A more family friendly shooting activity. Suitable from age 4.

Shoot at a variety of targets and undertake friendly rivalry in our customised challenges.

Where to meet:

What to wear:

Holiday Club

3 hours

Age 4+

Our Holiday Club runs most days in the core holidays and operates between 10-1pm. It is aimed at ages 4+. We are not a crèche facility but instead a Children’s Activity and Education programme drawing on our location and environment around us. Our sessions include bushcraft, archery, pond dipping, sports, art, crafts, theatre, and bee-keeping to name a few. This session is unaccompanied and therefore you can use this time for your own onsite pleasure.  We provide a mid-morning snack and have water bottles for the children. Our experienced team are very welcoming and the children always say this is the best part of their holiday.

Where to meet:

The Birdhide. Park by the back gate (South easterly corner of the estate) and head over the foot bridge, continue down the path (about 5 mins) or better still cycle straight there. When you reach the bottom of the track you will see a further gate, proceed through and head for the Birdhide. We usually have a sign indicating where we are.  You can drive to the birdhide but parking and turning is restricted.

What to wear:

Activity appropriate clothing. For example for Bushcraft long sleeved trousers and tops and sturdy footwear or for pond-dipping shorts and crocs.

Always apply sun-cream and if you have some, insect repellent.

Duty of Care:

Your children are in excellent hands with us but we will ask you to complete a form with contact details etc. We also ask that you complete an allergen form for any children with allergies.

 

Tennis

1 hour

From £45 per hour

Age 4+

Tennis lessons can be arranged with a professional coach for children and adults of all levels or if you just want to have a competitive game with a pro then that’s fine too.

 

Should you not wish to book a tennis lesson but just want to use the courts then please book this through concierge. There is no charge for court usage

Please note that Haydn Benney only runs 2 hours sessions

What to wear:

Sportswear and trainers.

 

Terms and Conditions:

 

Children: All children need to be accompanied to the private activity sessions. They remain your overall responsibility.

Payment: Once the activity has been confirmed we will raise an invoice and someone from our Concierge team will call you for payment.

All cancellations 7 days to 48 hours prior to booking or event will incur a 50% payment.

All cancellations within 48 hours of the event payment will incur full payment.

All changes to activities and Kid’s Club following a written confirmation will incur a £10.00 plus VAT administration charge.

Because of the complexity of arranging Horse Riding and Baby Sitting services any cancellations within 14 days of the booked date will incur the full charge.

Please note that all of our coaches and instructors are very busy so be sure to book as soon as you are certain.

All of our instructors have all the relevant appropriate qualifications, first aid and are DBS checked.
